Patrick is the Principal of North of 45, based in northern Michigan and serving the upper Great Lakes Region, Alaska and other northern places. Mr. Coleman is recognized internationally as an expert in northern city planning issues, solutions and placemaking. He also leads the Winter Cities Institute, an organization that promotes liveable and sustainable winter cities through technical assistance and an online archive of resource materials. He has presented workshops on winter cities at conferences in Siberia, Japan, Denmark, Sweden, all across Canada, Alaska, and in the northern USA.
